The Other Homeschoolers
Four-year-old Patrick Henry College, a college for the Christian homeschooled, allows students to show affection on campus only by holding hands and has sent seven of its 240 students to be White House interns this year. You want apocalypse? Not the gay marriages, man -- those seven kids, they are signs of the apocalypse. Thanks to Chase's crew -- dude, you've got to scream a little louder when these stories come up. I mean, it's the apocalypse! Posted by Gus at March 08, 2004 11:47 PM

This is actually a good* thing. Look at it logically -

1. Patrick Henry sends many, many interns to D.C.
2. Hampshire College, as well as other schools with souls, encourages their students to travel abroad.
3. If November of 2004 fails us, D.C. is soon to be a smoking crater. Hell, poor Tony B will be so fed-up by that point that he'll probably push the button himself.
4. D.C. and the interns are transformed into a rarified red dust.
5. Students willing to look beyond the sacred stomping grounds of the U.S. clap hands with glee and build a new political system in which anyone using the words "capitalism" and "democracy" and "freedom" in the same sentence is shot.

I dunno, guess I'm looking on the bright side... kinda. Screaming only helps when there's someone willing to hear.

* By "good", I mean "sucks", especially for Fuzz and Stephan and Spooky and anyone else in the D.C. region.

Patrick Henry also offers a course that teaches 12 year old girls to shoot firearms. A classmate of mine wrote an article on it.

Any link available to the above-mentioned firearms article?

Nope, it was for a journalism class. I can see if she'd be willing to send me a copy of it, and I can email it to you...

Hmm, I'm torn on this one. On the one hand, I have a lot of respect for Patrick Henry College, but on the other hand, there is the aforementioned smoking-crater factor. Here's hoping they wise up soon and concentrate on more important pursuits than politics.
